Adaptation of the content of education in the training of occupational safety specialists to the requirements of the professional standard and the demands of employers

Abstract

Relevance. Occupational injuries with severe consequences and fatal outcome have a high level and are a serious cause of significant losses of skilled labor. This fact indicates that there are problems in the occupational safety management system in organizations that must be solved by specialists in accordance with labor legislation. In this regard, it is necessary to improve the quality of training for occupational safety specialists in order for them to perform their official duties efficiently.

The purpose of this article is to substantiate the need to update and adapt the content of education in the training of occupational safety specialists, taking into account the labor functions prescribed in the professional standard and the requests of employers.

Tasks: to study the demand for specialists in the field of labor protection; to analyze vacancies for the requirements imposed by employers on candidates; to make a rating of professional skills that employers want to see candidates for the position of a specialist in the field of labor protection.

Methodology. The following methods are used in the work: comparative analysis, classification, generalization, theoretical analysis of scientific papers, logical methods of information processing.

Results. There is an increased demand for occupational safety specialists in Russia. The professional skills required in vacancies are systematized, priority ones are highlighted and a rating is built. A proposal has been made on the need to adapt the content of education to the needs of employers.

Conclusions. The demands of the labor market are a guideline for universities, and they will be best satisfied if, in the future, the requirements of employers for applicants are taken into account when training specialists in labor protection. The content of education in the training of specialists in the field of occupational safety and health should be based on the requirements of the professional standard and adequately take into account the requests of the employer.
